DEEPIKA PADUKONE BACK WITH "DESI BOYZ"

Deepika Padukone has had enough of playing non-glam part in a series of films. So when Prakash Jha, Ashutosh Gowariker and Pradeep Sarkar asked her to turn plain Jane for their respective films, Deepika didn't protest and willingly stepped into plain suit-salwars, sarees and T-shirts respectively while also keeping her make-up minimal. Even in BREAK KE BAAD which was set in Mauritius, director Danish Aslam wanted her to play the girl next door which means designer outfits were out of question.

However none of that would be the case in DESI BOYZ where Deepika would be back at being her glamorous best. After consciously staying away from that make-up kit for her AARAKSHAN, KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY and LAFANGEY PARINDEY, Deepika has sent an SOS to her styling team and made sure that she comes across as an ultra glam personality in her winter release DESI BOYZ.

"Deepika is doing everything possible to stand out in the Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer," her friend continues, "Since the film is set in London, Deepika doesn't want to look out of place. Also, the film belongs to a genre that is quintessentially commercial and cool on eyes. During the shooting of her film, she summoned her stylist, costume designer, make-up staff and hair dressers to give her an ultra glam look. She also hit the gym hard to look in best shape and make heads turn. She knows that before this year comes to close; DESI BOYZ is one film that would present her in an altogether different light."

Deepika too admits that for DESI BOYZ she has gone through a definite make-over. "DESI BOYZ requires me to play glamorous and I have done whatever possible to make sure that I look my best," says Deepika who would next be seen in AARAKSHAN before she sizzles again in DESI BOYZ this winter.

PRAKASH JHA'S UPCOMING MOVIE "AARAKSHAN"

The local authorities demolished a major set of Prakash Jha's upcoming film "AARAKSHAN"in Bhopal. The demolition was ordered by the District Magistrate's office. Patchwork scenes with Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan were scheduled to be shot on the set later this month.

Prakash Jha Productions had taken land on lease from the Minal Residency Group, not realizing that it was disputed property.

From end-January till end of March shooting continued on the constructed set.

The set that has been demolished included an entire bungalow that belongs to the character played by Mr. Amitabh Bachhan in the film and parts of the tabela, where informal schools were set up in the film. This particular set was spread over an acre and a half of land.

Prakash Jha, "We had no idea that the land where we had constructed was disputed. But I do feel that even though the demolition had to go through, the authorities knew we had constructed only temporary structures for the purpose of shooting. Why demolish it? It would have been dismantled within a month. Everyone in Bhopal knew it was a set. The demolition has definitely upset our plans. The reason we had left the set standing was because there were a couple of patchwork scenes with Saif and Deepika that remained to be shot. Now we have to work out alternative arrangements."

ADM Bhopal, Mr. Rajnish Shrivastava, "It was an illegal structure, so it was demolished. The High Court had directed us to demolish the structure. We did what we were supposed to, because the construction on that area was not legal."

SOUTH INDIAN SUPERSTAR, "RAJNIKANTH" HOSPITALIZED

Bollywood and South indian actor, Rajnikanth is suffering from both allergic bronchitis and high fever.

He was admitted earlier on Friday last owing to dehydration induced exhaustion.

After the phenomenal success of ROBOT (ENDHIRAN), which was dubbed in Hindi as well, the southern actor has started working on his new film RANA with Deepika Padukone in Chennai.

He plays three roles in the film on the Mahurat sets of which he fell sick on April 29 and had to be hospitalized first.

BOLLYWOOD CELEBRITIES PLANS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

Lovers across the world must be eagerly waiting for Valentine’s Day to make their loved ones feel special but Bollywood celebrities, who entertain the public with romantic films, are in no mood to celebrate. Many will be working on the day while others think that it is a vogue idea to have such a day.

Shahrukh khan, the king of romance, said that he would be celebrating Valentine’s Day in jail, as he would be shooting for a film in jail on the day. Aamir Khan will spend the day in Berlin, as he is one of the jury members for the Berlin film festival. Deepika Padukone will be busy shooting for Aarakshan in Bhopal on the day and Katrina Kaif too will work like any other day.

There is also a bunch of them who thinks that there is no point celebrating Valentine’s Day. Priyanka Chopra said that one doesn’t have to wait for a single day to express one’s love. Actor Arshad Warsi also echoed in the same vain, saying that everyday is Valentine’s Day for him, as he has to make his wife happy everyday. Kareena Kapoor too has no plans for the day and wouldn’t gift anything to anyone.

Well, it looks like Valentine’s Day will be dull in Bollywood. But who knows if they secretly have good time with their loved ones or send bunch of goodies even if they can’t celebrate together!

DEEPIKA PADUKONE TURNS 25 TODAY

TODAY, Bollywood most beautiful and sexy actress, Deepika Padukone  turns 25 who born 5th January 1986, is an Indian actress and a former model. Padukone made her acting debut in the 2006 Kannada film Aishwarya. The following year, she made her Hindi film debut in the blockbuster Om Shanti Om which earned her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND:-

Deepika was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her family moved to Bangalore, Karnataka, India, when she was eleven months old.Deepika is of Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin origin, and her mother tongue is Konkani.Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of international repute, and her mother is a travel agent. Padukone also has a younger sister, Anisha, born on February 2, 1991.

Padukone attended Sophia High School in Bangalore, and completed her pre-university studies at Mount Carmel College Bangalore.While in high school she played badminton at the state level.However, she was not keen on pursuing a career as a badminton player.

MODELING CAREER:-

While in college, Padukone pursued a career in modeling.She was spotted in a ramp competition in NLS, Bangalore.Over the years, she has modeled for such Indian brand names as Liril, Dabur Lal powder, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, and has been "brand ambassador" for the Jewels of India retail jewelry show.The cosmetics company Maybelline made her its international spokesperson

At the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards she was awarded the title "Model of the Year".Shortly afterward, she was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006 and won two trophies at the Idea Zee Fashion Awards: "Female Model of the Year - (Commercial Assignments)" and "Fresh Face of the Year".Padukone was also chosen as the brand ambassador of Kingfisher Airlines and later Levi Strauss and Tissot SA.In addition, she appeared in the music video for Himesh Reshammiya's song Naam Hai Tera.

ACTING CAREER:-

In 2006, Padukone made her cinematic debut in the Kannada film Aishwarya opposite actor Upendra. She later made a successful Bollywood debut in 2007 with Farah Khan's blockbuster Om Shanti Om opposite Shahrukh Khan.Her performance was well received, earning the actress a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award as well as her first Filmfare Best Actress nomination. Taran Adarsh from indiaFM noted, "Deepika has all it takes to be a top star — the personality, the looks and yes, she's supremely talented too. Standing in the same frame as SRK and getting it right is no small achievement. She comes as a whiff of fresh air!"Padukone was then seen in Siddharth Anand's romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite Ranbir Kapoor and alongside Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba. The film, which released on 15 August 2008, performed reasonably well at the box office. Her next film Chandni Chowk To China, released on 16 January 2009, and was a critical and commercial disaster. Padukone's fourth release Love Aaj Kal, released on 31 July 2009 and proved to be one of the biggest hits of 2009.Her first release in 2010 was Excel Entertainment’s Karthik Calling Karthik opposite Farhan Akhtar.

PERSONAL LIFE:-

In March 2008, Padukone began dating Ranbir Kapoor, her co-star from the film Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008).The couple broke up in November 2009.

DEEPIKA PADUKONE IN ROHIT DHAWAN'S "DESI BOYZ"

Bollywood most sexy actress, Deepika Padukone will be one of the two heroines in Desi Boyz, the directorial debut of Rohit Dhawan, son of David Dhawan. Produced by Eros, the film stars Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.

It was reported that John and Akshay will be showing their buff bodies in the film as pole dancers. The two loose their jobs and compete with each other as pole dancers at the same night club.

The film will reportedly have a second female lead, with names of Lara Dutta and Anushka Sharma featuring in press reports.

Anushka's manager, however, told Sawfnews that she is not in the film.

While Deepika and Akshay are not currently shooting for any other films, John Abraham has recently started filming Kaakha Kaakha with co-star Genelia D'Souza.

Deepika and Akshay last featured together in Chandni Chowk to China (2009) and Housefull (2010). 

DEEPIKA PADUKONE IN KINGFISHER SWIMSUIT CALENDAR HUNT, 2011

Bollywood famous most young and sexy actress, Deepika Padukone, alongwith her beau Sidhartha Mallya, the son of  Vijay Mallya, would be selecting the 12 sexiest models for the most sizzling event of this year, Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar Hunt 2011. Atul Kasbekar will shoot the entire 2011 calendar again and the shooting for the calendar will be held in Mauritius. As for now the Bollywood diva who herself once associated with the calendar event earlier in her career, want brains alongwith the beauty in the models.

Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar comes out in limited edition every year and everyone knows it as the best platform for the models to start their career, models are getting more and more anxious to be a part of the exclusive calendar. Mallya stated that the Calendar gives the biggest platform for the aspiring model and also complimented the models saying that they are bold and beautiful.

According to Deepika, the models should be intelligent, clever and smart, along with a perfect figure as  she was associated with calendar before she can easily identify with the models easier. “I think apart from just a great body and a great face, it’s also very important for the girls to be smart, witty and intelligent. It’s not the way you look but the entire package that matters. I think that being smart and intelligent takes one forward in life if you really want to become successful. So, I am looking for someone who is not just good looking but also very, very intelligent,” said Padukone.

She also told that she had also been a part of the calendar, and empathized with the aspiring calendar girls. Deepika added that during her time, there was no model hunt and she feels lucky to get that opportunity. She said that Atul Kasbekar noticed her at that time as she already started modeling by that time and she did not even required to compete with anyone.

The calendar was first of its kind which launched in India in 2003, with an experienced model Deepika and Sidhartha will certainly able to choose some fresh faces this year too.

NEIL NITIN MUKESH KISSES DEEPIKA PADUKONE

Bollywood Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh had to kiss Bollywood Actress Deepika Padukone on screen for their forthcoming bollywood film Lafange Parindey and the actor reportedly got cold feet. Not because he’s a virgin screen-kisser and, well, Deepika Padukone has the experience of kissing Saif Ali Khan before camera for the movie Love Aaj Kal… but, apparently, because Neil’s had a no-kiss policy in all his films so far.

His first director Sriram Raghavan had thrown a fit when Neil refused to kiss Rimi Sen. In his second film, Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, director Sudhir Mishra insisted Neil kiss Shahana Goswami. But the actor refused. Even in Jail where there was a love-making scene with Mughda Godse, Neil refused to kiss the sultry actress. But Lafange Parindey director Pradeep Sarkar pulled the plug on Neil’s chastity vow. A source from the set said it was a long, torrid smooch comparable in intensity and duration to the Aamir Khan-Karisma Kapoor kiss in Raja Hindustani. And Neil was nervous!
