IS SONAKSHI TRACING VIDYA'S FOOTSTEPS?

Sonakshi Sinha may be the flavour of this season given the fact that her debut film is still plucking awards here and there, but there is a parallel debate going on about this DABANGG girl and that has to do with the kind of roles that she has chosen to play.

Increasingly many industry insiders are tracing parallels between Sonakshi Sinha and Vidya Balan. Though the two actresses might actually belong to different generations, but it seems they have a lot in common.

Adds our source, "The reason for drawing comparisons between Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha have their own logic. Firstly, like Vidya, Sonakshi is trying to project an image of the earthly heroine. Not only that, both Vidya and Sonakshi are reluctant to expose their bodies beyond a certain point. While, Vidya might have changed her ideas now given the fact that her upcoming film "THE DIRTY PICTURE" will have lot of skin show, Sonakshi for the moment seems to be overlooking this fact."

No one can deny that bollywood actresses who have tried to play safe have ended up paying big time and even changing their stand later, Sonakshi Sinha seems to be making the same mistake. Adds a bollywood veteran, "Vidya Balan has come a long way. Now, she has no issues with exposing her body. I think it dawned on her late that bollywood actresses with little sex-quotient don't make up for popular icons. Now, she is trying to go for an image makeover with THE DIRTY PICTURE."

Now, the onus is on Sonakshi to take a few tips from Vidya. Her ban on bikinis and exposing her body is not a success formula that worked with her apparent inspiration Vidya Balan, so most likely it won't work for her too.

SONAKSHI SINHA IN SEARCH OF GLAMOROUS LOOK

Bollywood’s hot and beautiful daughter of veteran actor and MP Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha is looking out for some glamor these days.

The demanding actress is focusing on changing her village belle image and is all set to don a glamorous avatar for her forthcoming Abbas Mastan film titled ‘Race 2’.

"I believe as an actress one must do different roles. I wanted to change my image from being a traditional girl to a glamorous one. So I signed Race 2," Sinha said, during an interview.

She said that she wanted to shed the "gaon ki gori" image, and so even Shirish Kunder’s ‘Joker’, opposite Akshay Kumar, will see her in a glam and chic look.

Sonakshi said “I had to first lose weight for my debut film. Now I have to get into even better shape for my two upcoming films Joker and Race 2,” said the actress, who had everyone smitten by her innocent act in ‘Dabangg’ opposite Salman Khan.

The buzz is that Sonakshi is working extra hard on her look in the 'Race' sequel, as she is replacing sultry Bipasha Basu in the movie, and so the stakes are high.

According to Tabloids, Sonakshi is the busiest person in the B-town these days and she makes sure that she attends all functions, to which she is invited.

Spreading her charisma, the actress won two awards at the FICCI awards, courtesy her entry film ‘Dabangg’ that had won the Filmfare Award for the best film of the year 2010.

From shuttling between her shoots, to winning awards, to performing at events, to endorsing products, Sonakshi is busy with her professional commitments and well, she is definitely having fun.

"Bhaagam bhaag hai bhai! Been going crazy trying to complete all my assignments! Feels like shooting for joker was the vacation," she had posted on her Twitter account on Saturday.


She has been roped in as the brand ambassador of Dabur Fem Herbal Creme Bleach and on Provogue, this month and is also gearing up to shoot her South Indian flick opposite superstar Kamal Haasan.

SONAKSHI SINHA IN "RACE2"

 

Bollywood celebrity Sonakshi Sinha will now be seen in "Race 2", which has a very westernized image, but the actress has made clear that she is not going to do steamy love-making scenes.

 

Sonakshi is however totally influenced by Salman Khan, who is her mentor and the person who launched her, without his consent the actress won’t take a single step. It seems that Sallu bhai has advised her to maintain her graceful and shyimage and even the filmmaker’s oblige to it.

 

The producer of "Race 2", Ramesh Taurani and directors Abbas- Mastan are very happy to have a fresh face on board.

 

According to sources, “It goes without saying that Ms Sinha will not perform any lovemaking or  kissing scenes in the film. Adjustments have been made to suit Sonakshi, who was being considered for the film for quite some time. Knowing her Indianimage and shy nature, this was more or less expected. The producer of the film, Ramesh Taurani, and the director, Abbas-Mustan, are very happy to have her on board.”
