Now these missionaries are setting up miracle boxes ,so far in rural areas, where poor people that drop their wishes in the box see miracles happening.Only hitch is entire family has to convert to Christianity.Yeah abuse of poverty.But there is discrimination (hoping that when you speak of poor you speak of poor of all religions)even in miracles.Some how these missionaries don't dare to mess with Muslim poor.So Muslim poor are left alone. Neither your MMS wrapped State does anything to alleviate their poverty nor these missionaries shower their miracles on them.

Dont also forget that the points you need to make for the Canadian system is reviewed periodically. It can go up or down based on the need for skilled immigrants. This way they control the numbers.Then, live in Canada as a PR for 3 years and you are citizen. That is what I call a defined PATH. Something you can work towards... it also serve as an incentive for not towing the illegal route!!

So your saying that I am not suffering is not soothing to me...It does not reduce my pain.....It does not convince me in any way....
Not just that...My friends who chose not to come to America now have a higher net worth than me....So coming to America has not exactly been a great thing for me....More over whatever you are saying is just salt on my wounds...nothing less than that....

I'd be surprised to see that much movement before the Jan bulletin. If they do a quarterly spillover, I am hoping they'll move it to March at least.

Well, I have been on this forum for over a year, and I have been doing my research, you guys have given me a great idea...immigrating to India. I know that right now India might not be as comfortable as Laguna Beach, (but then agan 99% of the world isn't). I think that if I go to India now, work hard, endure a bit of discomfort and do my best that I will be a millionaire in my later years, whereas in the U.S. thigns are declining, and I will have grandkids before I get a Green Card.
This is where India Green Card comes in. So, I am looking for a job in India (non-tech, but rather business/marketing related).I would appreciate any help that you guys could give me. I have researched that I have to find a job and show a contract of employment from the sponsoring company in India, as well as an appointment letter from the sponsoring organization and proof that the organization is registered in India.
Then it allpoints out tome having to apply for an employment visa at the consulate with jurisdiction over my place of residence, and I am awae that my visa may require clearance by the Ministry of Home Affairs or Reserve Bank of India before the visa is issued. My question is on how to contact the MHA for this? Do any of you have their phone/fax numberor address?
Further, I found that in India a foreign national may not change employers. If the foreign national wishes to change employers, the foreign national must leave the country and re-enter with a new visa for that particular new employer. So, I am looking for something really steady before I even set foot in India, and that's why I need your all's help!!!

i am not debating you point of view, in fact i agree that with the darwinism concept and hope the down economy brings gc to good & talented folks. your rollercoaster ride was from Mar 2001 to May 2003, about 2 yrs. in the current scenario people are waiting for 8+ years and most of them like myself at least 3 yrs. the situation is indeed different this time around with labor substitution, L1, porting etc. causing delays for earlier people, that's why you see more venting this time around.

I heard that if you apply on your own and move out of US, it becomes very difficult to let the Can immigration authority about your current location and keep track of all the correspondence with them. But, the agency/lawyer does this thing very efficiantly. Any opinion on this ?
You can update your address online through the e-client tool. The only issue might be that your case may be transferred to a consulate location closer to you.

One cannot challange the content of the INA. Immigration is a privilage not a right. US citizens/lawmakers decides who they or how many they want to allow per year through INA. One can not challange this. For example, before 1960, US allowed only europians not asians. Though, US immigration has a history of 200 years, Indians were not allowed before 1960 in EB catagories. One could not challange then. Tommorow if they amend the INA, by saying no asians allowed in EB catagories, one cannot challange that.
One can challage only if any branch of government violates the law. One can not challange why the law do not have some other provision or why it has only 7%?. It was determiend by congress and signed by president. For example, in H1B, they have special quota for Singapore/Australian nationals. One can not question that. Now, Newzland citizes can not ask/sue, why australians and why not newzlanders in special quota? The same situation in GC system.

For example, a janitor/unskilled worker can become citizen after 3 years of LPR(GC) status if his/her spouse is a US citizen and he/she got the GC thro US spouse FB sponsership. I have an approved H1B petition, but was given 221(g) during consular interview due to lack of license to practice my proffession in US. They instructed me to submit the license within one year to stamp the H1B visa.
Now I am comming to US on a Visitors visa to write the licensing exam and to get licenced.
I am aware of the possibility of changing status from Visitors visa to H1B after getting licence without leaving US, since I already have an approved H1B.
But I came to know that USCIS will take around 90 days to approve status change from Visitors visa to H1B.
Kindly clarify whether I can start working for my H1B employer immediately after filing status change with USCIS, or do I need to wait till the approval, to start working.
Also do I need to include 221(g) I received after my H1B consulate interveiw for the status change application.

If that is the case why was the Bulletin for july not set to Oct or Nov 2005 and instead made current. Surely USCIS does not want to deal with all the extra workload if it does not have to.
DOS/USCIS know the truth, but going by the Ombudsman's report, they want to use up visa numbers as fast as they can. So if they have 30K applications sitting, just waiting for visa numbers, now with everything set to C, they can blindly start approving without even seeing what the date on those apps is.
Also, with EB3-ROW being 'C' they dont even need to worry about per-country limits. Just pick up the next almost-approved file, assign visa number, mail out. repeat.

China is not a superpower economically? you must be still in your 1980s time capsule ... in a few years China will definitely have as much economic clout as US...and FYI there domestic consumption is now big enough to sustain them.
It is not simply that...immigraion is not always abt economics..its more and beyond... the US vision of a global melting pot has nothing to do with purchasing power of educated immigrants....
Yes immigration is not about economy only but a vibrant economy is the direct result of infusion of more skilled human resouces. Since you are in a self imposed time capsule my friend let me remind you it is not about being a melting pot anymore it is about being the salad bowl where everyone preserves their own identities yet affirms to a common goal. It is prehistoric to still not link vibrancy of economy with immigration. Who cares if dilipcr is from BITS or some Swami PavBhaji university in Arnakulam. All are same in America. For your Greencard application you just need a minimum degree that can be acceptable by USCIS. For jobs and career, your Indian degree is nothing. It only boosts your ego and you can tell your Indian friends. If you tell your American friends they will just laugh at your ignorance. If you are so attached to your BITS then how about you go and help them be #1? It is your caliber and performance that matters in jobs. IIT and IIMs can be successful in USA or misfits same as people from third rate colleges in India. I have seen people from APTech and NIIT do better than graduates of US of top Indian colleges. So stop having a false pride. This false pride is only good for getting you married via an arranged marriage to an Indian girl in India. Nothing more than that.
That statement was ridculously funny :D BTW, Mr Dilip, a classmate of mine from graduate school who did his Ph.d in Cryptography, couple of internships in RSA, was ranked #5 in the Math Olympiad in 1993 had to return to India because most of the jobs he applied for required security clearance, which means USC. He's now a successful head of the computer science dept. in Mumbai and the feedback from his students about his knowledge is amazing.
Most people who came during the 1995-2001 were HTML and Cobol junkies who got lucky when their GCs were issued. Take your arguments some place else. :rolleyes:

Thx for the info.. knowDOL. Could you pls suggest me where you found that information (reg EB3 not coming under the cap).
Also, I have not received my 45 day letter so far.. don't know how long it is going to take..
August 2003 is a good PD if it were EB2 and you could have stayed with your company. I heard in this forum from someone that, if the person is Masters graduate and worked in related for three years they are exempt from cap even though they applied in EB3 category. If this is true, it is good for you to stay in your current company and not try substitution. If this is not true and if I were you I would have gone for substitution.
What ever you do, do it with good terms with your current employer, so you can come back and join them and be able to use the 2003 PD, if some thing goes wrong with your substitution. If you leave the company and join something else, if you think that you cannot join them back, then it may not worth it. Again, it depends on your personal situation, if you don't have a spouse who is waiting for EAD to work, you should not be risking this.
